Pastor Santino Bol Akok — Director & Founder of Christian Reaching Ministry

My name is Pastor Santino Bol Akok from Akuak Rak, South Sudan. I am the Founder and Director of Christian Reaching Ministry (CRM). I became a believer and accepted Jesus Christ in 1988 while living in exile in a refugee camp in Ethiopia. Before I accepted Jesus, I knew nothing about the gospel and the Good News that Christ came into the world to set mankind free from the bondage of Satan.

I left South Sudan for Ethiopia in 1987; we walked for five months after I was forced to flee my home village of Akuak Rak by the oppressive regime of the Sudan Government in Khartoum. My home area had been destroyed by radical Arab abductors who attacked our village, left my people with nothing, abducted our children, and took women and young girls into North Sudan for slavery and forced labour.

After years as one of the "Lost Boys" of Sudan and hearing a call to focus on education and leadership, I eventually returned to Western Aweil. In 1995 I began to preach the Good News of Jesus Christ, which marked the beginning of evangelical churches in the region and later the establishment of Christian Reaching Ministry (CRM).
